Niguse Uganda is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to empowering underserved Ugandans from all backgrounds. Our mission is to provide access to resources that foster development in five key areas:
Our Vision
We envision a society where every individual, regardless of their circumstances, has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. By empowering individuals, we empower communities, creating a ripple effect that extends to their families, friends, and broader spheres of influence.
Our Approach
At Niguse Uganda, we believe in inclusivity, compassion, and sustainable development. Our programs are designed to create lasting impact, fostering a culture of self-reliance and community support. We strive to be a catalyst for positive change, providing platforms for individuals to grow, contribute, and inspire others working side-by-side with community leaders and members for sustainability and continuity to generations
Together, let's build a brighter future for all.
We have a vison at Niguse to establish an early childhood development learning center for our children and infants

Background
Niguse Initiative Uganda was inspired by the love and dedication of Kathy Shaw Johnson , known by many as Mama and by many more as Granny. Through her love, selflessness and dedication she has financially supported many children in various stages of their education including fully funding university for 7 young Ugandans. She has always been insistent that family is not limited to blood relationships, but can be built across backgrounds, tribes, villages and even nations. She has helped women start businesses so that they can support themselves and their families.,
Kathy first came to Uganda over 24 years ago. She insists that it has taken that long to form the perfect coalition of individuals and communities needed for broad success. Most recently she has been investing her time and money in the community of Nsasa in Mpigi District. It is her hope that every success that empowers people can be duplicated in other communities. Nsasa is the home of His Grace Demo Farm, owned by her daughterJackie and son in law Grace Mubiru. They graciously set aside a portion of their farm for Kathy to create a food forest in honor of her late parents. The initiative is called, The Robert and Barbara Shaw Food Forest (BABS for Bob and Barbara Shaw). Initially 250 fruit trees were planted, including 50 Breadfruit trees. Breadfruit is a species new to Uganda. Kathy, the Mubiru’s, Mr. Kamya Espieneto and other Ugandan Breadfruit enthusiasts under the leadership of Trees That Feed
